AMANDA BADEN (Bay-den), MSBA 

Owner and Head Pastry Chef

Hi everyone, I’m Amanda! I’m a pastry chef based in Northern Virginia, living my dream of running my very own bakery. My journey began in my grandmother’s kitchen, where I "helped" bake meringues—mostly by licking the spoon! Those early moments sparked a lifelong passion for baking, and I’ve been creating ever since.

 

My passion for baking led me to pursue formal education in the culinary arts. I earned an associate degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University in Miami. I later completed a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Virginia Tech. This education provided me with the foundation to combine creativity with business acumen, ultimately bringing my bakery dreams to life.

I made my first wedding cake in 2019 and immediately fell in love with the process. The artistry, precision, and joy of contributing to such a special day captivated me, and wedding cakes quickly became one of my favorite things to craft. Since then, I’ve honed my skills and earned recognition, including Best Flavor and Attendee’s Choice at the 2024 Brides & Weddings Cake-Off, and Best Dessert Design for the AWP Editorial Shoot Competition.

 

When I’m not baking, you can find me enjoying hot yoga, attending concerts, or exploring my fascination with astrology, tarot, and numerology. These hobbies keep me inspired and balanced, fueling my creativity in and out of the kitchen.
